Be part of the legacy

4‑H has been an integral part of Alberta communities since 1917, with deep-rooted history and tradition that stems back to the efforts of individuals who formed the very first club for boys and girls (later called 4‑H) in our province.

Though each decade since our beginning has brought with it new challenges and milestones, the simple vision that started 4‑H has endured the test of time, making us one of Alberta’s most recognized and valued youth programs.

History calendars

The 4-H Centennial History Showcase is a 16 month calendar with 44 pages of pictures and stories, telling about the origins of projects, public speaking, Alberta 4-H Centre, awards and 4-H through a century.

Each registered 2016/17 4-H family receives a complementary copy of this historic memento with their club supplies. Calendars are also available for purchase at $20 each. Proceeds will help pay for the 100th anniversary celebrations. Order yours today by filling out this form or contacting 4-H Alberta at 1-877-682-2153.

 4-H Heritage Families

Hey 4-H families, here’s a chance to share your family’s story about life in the 4-H program.

The 4-H Heritage Families initiative provides an opportunity for multigenerational 4-H families to tell their stories. Families with a strong 4-H history are encouraged to share their history through a brief description of their participation in 4-H.

In the spirit of celebrating 100 years of 4-H in Alberta, it is important to showcase our history and our future. The collection of multigenerational 4-H families’ stories demonstrates the strength of 4-H’s roots and showcases the evolution of the program between generations.

The 4-H Council of Alberta will collect the stories and photos of multigenerational families to be displayed at the 4-H signature events in 2017 as we celebrate 100 years of 4-H in Alberta.

Submissions must be received by March 31, 2017. Click here to start telling your story.
